Finding Your Gypsy Soul

I’m a photographer – but that doesn’t define me. What’s most important to me in life is relationships . . . with loved ones . . . with friends . . . with colleagues . . . and yes, even with clients. Whether long-standing or not, I love the connection that forms between people, that goes beneath the surface with genuine feelings of well-being towards one another.

So when one of my best friends goes through a battle with breast cancer, I celebrate when she emerges victorious, having fought with courage, dignity, positivity, and yes, even a great sense of humor. And then my creative nature steps in with a vision of how to show through my craft, her beautiful spirit. It kicked in when she shared a poem with me that she had come across that in a lot of ways exemplified where her journey has been leading her.

I thank you, Theresa, for trusting me even though you were unsure as I sort of pushed you along with my camera. Your heart and your sassiness won out over your insecurity and I hope the photos will be a reminder to you of how special you are!

Kaylee at One Year Old

Little Kaylee came by for her one year old session . . . with her parent’s hopes that she was over her cold bug. You know how it goes with little ones – seems like they are getting well one day, and then the next, not so much. Mom was feeling like it didn’t go very well – but we did get some good shots of this sweet, adorable little girl.

As a photographer, who puts A LOT, if not all of my spare time into my photography, I find one misconception about photography niggles me more than any other….and that is when people seem to think that as a photographer… you turn up to a shoot, you click a button a few times, then you go home a magically produce 20 images for them in 5 minutes.

No…..No………No, I WISH it was that simple.

photo restoration

My latest restoration. If you have some photos that are of sentimental value and need restoration, you can give or send me the photos which I will then scan and work on and create a digital image file that you have prints made from, unless you want me to have the prints made for you. The image files will always be there if you need more prints made, and you can share them with others.

Baby Z

This little guy has roots that no doubt will blossom as he grows. They include a heritage of rhythm, music, and a lot of heart and soul. Hard to believe he is only 1 month old with those expressive eyes. Click on each photo to see enlargement.

Dapper Dappled Dude

Going to the Dogs

Since retiring from wedding photography, I’ve been building up my studio space and trying out a variety of types of portraiture. Here are a few of my recent shots of dogs.

First is Waylon, a 9 year old Welsh Corgi. He’s looking pretty good for an old dude!

Then we have Tango, a very energetic, happy, affectionate Mcnab, a breed that was developed in Northern California for herding cattle – but now becoming popular as agility, performance and service dogs.

Senior Photos in Morro Bay

After a mix-up on where we were supposed to meet, we got a bit behind but still got some nice shots before we lost the sun. We were both troopers, trudging around the dunes on a cold, damp, windy late afternoon. You could hardly guess from Vanesa’s calm demeanor and sweet smiles.
